Anterior interbody fusion

A surgical procedure that replaces some of or the entire disk with a bony graft through an anterior approach. This technique is used commonly in the cervical spine to treat degenerative disk disease and herniated nucleus pulposus. This technique also is used in the lumbar spine for many fusions.
